Eligibility Criteria

If you’re looking to kick-start your career and gain invaluable experience, the Bank of Maharashtra’s apprentice program offers a golden opportunity! While this isn’t a job, it’s a step toward building your future with hands-on training. Here are the key details for aspiring candidates:

  1. Post Overview: This is an apprenticeship, not a formal job with the bank. However, it’s an excellent chance to develop skills and expand your horizons.
  2. Available Positions: The bank is offering 600 apprenticeship slots, giving many candidates the chance to be part of something big.
  3. Qualification Requirements:
  • You must hold a bachelor’s degree in any discipline from a recognized university or institution approved by the Government of India.
  • Proficiency in the local language (reading, writing, and speaking) is essential. This should be supported by your 10th or 12th-grade certificate showing the local language as a subject.
  1. Age Limit: Candidates should be between 20 and 28 years old to be eligible.
  2. Training Duration: The apprenticeship lasts for one year, offering you a solid foundation for future opportunities.
  3. Stipend: During your apprenticeship, you’ll receive a stipend of ₹9,000 per month. While no additional benefits are provided, this allowance will support you through your training period.
  4. Training Hours: Your learning and growth will happen between 10:00 a.m. and 5:00 p.m., preparing you for a professional career.
  5. Important Terms and Conditions:
  • If you’ve already been an apprentice or are currently undergoing apprenticeship training, you’re not eligible to apply.
  • Candidates with over a year of job experience after their degree will also not qualify.
  • While the apprenticeship will equip you with valuable skills, there is no promise of a job offer afterward, nor any obligation for you to accept one.
  • Unfortunately, apprenticeships don’t come with any right to permanent employment at the bank. After your training ends, your journey with the bank does too—at least for now.
  • Please note that the bank won’t provide transport, hostel facilities, or accommodation during your apprenticeship.
  • Your eligibility will be provisional, and all documents will be verified. If any information is found to be false, your training offer will be canceled.
  • Once selected, you must complete the full year of training. Withdrawing from the program will only be allowed under exceptional circumstances, and those who do may be required to repay the stipend and training costs.
  • Selected candidates will sign a Contract of Apprenticeship. The program is governed by the Apprentices Act, 1961, ensuring a structured and fair training period.
  • Any disputes regarding the apprenticeship will be settled in courts within Pune’s jurisdiction.

Selection Procedure for Apprenticeship Program (2024-25)

The selection process for the Bank of Maharashtra’s apprenticeship program will be based on merit and specific criteria. Below are the detailed steps and guidelines for selection:

  1. Online Application and Merit List:
Candidates must register their online application on the bank’s website and provide their 12th (HSC/10+2) or diploma percentage. The merit list for apprentices will be prepared State-wise, based on the marks/percentage obtained in these qualifications. In the case of a tie between candidates with the same percentage, the candidates will be ranked according to their age in descending order.
  2. Diploma Holders with Engineering Degrees:
Candidates who have completed an Engineering Degree after finishing a Diploma will have their Diploma marks/percentage considered for merit list preparation. The aggregate marks of all semesters or years will be taken into account.
  3. Computerized Merit List:
The merit list will be generated based on the information provided in the online application. Any discrepancies found during Document Verification will lead to the candidate’s disqualification.
  4. No Guarantee of Selection:
Meeting the eligibility criteria does not guarantee selection or engagement. The bank reserves the right to change or modify the selection criteria as necessary.
  5. Disqualification:
The bank reserves the right to reject any candidate at any stage if they are found ineligible or if they have provided false or misleading information. Fees paid by ineligible candidates will be forfeited, and the apprenticeship contract of such candidates, if engaged, will be canceled.
  6. Medical Fitness and Verification:
The final engagement of selected apprentices will depend on their medical fitness, verification of their antecedents, and completion of other formalities required by the bank.
  7. State-wise Waiting List:
A State-wise waiting list will be maintained for one year. Candidates on this list may be called for apprenticeship training if positions remain unfilled or if selected candidates do not join.
  8. Submission of Documents:
Selected candidates will be required to submit their applications along with the necessary documents through the web portal (https://nats.education.gov.in). They must first register themselves on this portal before submitting the documents.

The entire process emphasizes transparency and merit-based selection, but candidates are encouraged to ensure that all information provided is accurate to avoid disqualification.
